Grevillea robusta flowers

Flowers of Silky Oak

A Silky Oak, Grevillea robusta, blooms in October. The largest of the Grevilleas, it is native to the North Coast of NSW and to coastal Queensland. It is naturalised on the North-west Slopes of NSW. It is a popular Street tree here for its attractive shape and foliage, and its spectacular flowers. In places in Australia and overseas it is now an environmental weed.
